DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n  \nDates: Thursday\, February 9 (Part 1) AND Thursday March 9 (Part 2)\, 2023 \nTime: 8:30 – 11:00 AM \nLocation: Doors open at 8:00 AM for coffee\, snacks and networking. \nRRM Design Group Training Room\, 3765 S Higuera St # 102\, San Luis Obispo \nNOTE: For the full 5 hours of learning units\, you must register for both February 9 (Part 1) AND March 9 (Part 2). \nPresented in partnership with AIA California Central Coast\, this course is centered around Zero Net Carbon Design (ZNCD)\, beginning with background and an overview of carbon in the building industry\, then focused content on energy performance and renewable energy\, water-savings as energy-savings\, embodied carbon\, and finally regenerative design. \n  \nSpread over two-morning sessions\, 2 ½ hours each\, the course has been developed to fulfill the new California requirement for architects to have five hours of ZNCD education as part of their license renewal. Although created with architects in mind\, the content is broadly applicable across the building industry. \n  \nLearning objectives (over 5 hours of learning) \n· Understand zero net carbon\, the fuel mix of the power grid\, and other factors that influences California’s energy code \n· Differentiate between operational and embodied carbon\, and identify key metrics and mitigations \n· Be able to describe the energy-water nexus and compare water-saving strategies \n· Review Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and tools for evaluating embodied carbon \n· Be able to differentiate between regenerative and sustainable design strategies and available standards and certifications \n  \nPresenters include: \n· Jennifer Rennick\, AIA\, Certified Energy Analyst \n· Andy Pease\, AIA\, LEED AP BD+C \n· Michelle Zimney\, LEED AP BD+C\, LFA\, CPHC \n

By understanding the programs coming\, you can help clients maximize their savings – on both their installation costs and utility bills. \n\nCurrent and potential IRA funds and access\nTax credits and incentives\nCurrent rebates from local programs\nHow Real Estate Professionals can benefit by helping clients access these available funding streams\nStrategies for incorporating available IRA-funded programs into your marketing and green real estate practices\n\nInstructor: \nJohn Shipman\, Franklin Energy \n  \nThis training is presented by Franklin Energy and made available through the Tri-County Regional Energy Network (3C-REN)\, a partnership between the Counties of Ventura\, Santa Barbara\, and San Luis Obispo to improve energy efficiency. 3C-REN is funded by utility ratepayer funds through the California Public Utilities Commission. \n3C-REN’s Building Performance Training program offers training for real estate professionals to communicate the value of high-performance homes during real estate transactions. 3C-REN’s Home Energy Savings program offers free and discounted energy efficiency upgrades to homeowners to increase the performance of their homes.
