Additionally\, did you know the secondary mortgage market guidelines require this competency prior to accepting an assignment? Read on for full course details and registration information. \n  \nDay 1 Course | Appraising Green Homes: Construction Methods & Trends \nTuesday\, August 22nd | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. \nThis course is designed to provide information on the rapidly expanding field of green building and introduce participants to all phases of green residential construction\, from proper siting of a home to finish material selection. The class begins with an overview of the history of green building and then explains its five key elements in detail. This will provide learners with an in-depth understanding of green building in order to equip you to competently analyze these properties in appraisal assignments. Day 1 course concludes with a discussion on green home certification programs\, guidelines and the possible impact on home appraisals. \n  \nDay 2 Course | Appraising Green Homes: Valuation Techniques and Advanced Applications \nWednesday\, August 23rd | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. \nThis course is intended to provide appraisers with the information and resources needed to make well-supported and accurate valuation decisions for green properties. Day 2 course begins with an overview of the most current data available for the valuation of green homes\, then presents the cost approach as it applies to these properties. Participants will then perform an in-depth analysis of the sales comparison approach and valuation techniques that can be applied to green properties. \nThe latter part of the day uses the valuation techniques from earlier in the day and directly applies it to appraisal case studies\, which will provide tools that can be integrated into real-world practice. Upon passing a formal exam\, the student will be able to use the designation of Accredited Green Appraiser. \n  \n9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Virtual Classroom training ** Class will begin promptly at 9:00 A \n4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Closed-Book Quiz **** Must pass the quiz with 70% of higher to earn the designation and Continuing Education Hours approved by the Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers. \n  \nContinuing Education Hours approved by the Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers Upon completion of the three required courses and successfully passing the quizzes at the end of each course with a grade of 70% or higher\, you will receive 14 Continuing Education Hours approved by the Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers. \nRequirements \n\nBy registering for this training\, you agree to take the quizzes at the end of each course.\nYou must be a licensed Appraiser and be available to take both (2) courses.\nParticipants who take all three classes and pass the exam will be listed on the Earth Advantage’s Find a Professional.\nClass will begin promptly at 9:00 am.\n\n  \nMaintaining Your Accreditation \nAppraisers must earn 4 CEs in green real estate education every 2 yrs to maintain the AGA designation: \nYour renewal deadline is 2 years from the last day of the class. Renewals then re-occur in 2-year cycles. There are several opportunities to satisfy the CE requirements: \n  \nEarth Advantage Courses \nIf you took AGA before 2012\, we highly recommend that you take the updated course again as a refresher. AGA is offered in both live and online formats. You can visit Earth Advantage’s Education Calendar to browse courses currently being offered\, or sign up for updates on other courses. CEs for an Earth Advantage course will be automatically applied to your renewal after completion.  You can browse this list of courses from other providers that Earth Advantage has approved. You will need to submit the Accreditation Renewal Form if you take a course from a provider besides Earth Advantage. \n  \nTraining Material Electronic versions of all materials needed for this training will be provided prior to the start of Day 1. Students have the option to download and print the student manuals or bring a laptop or tablet with wifi-capabilities to access the PowerPoint presentation\, student manuals\, Case Study worksheet\, etc during the training. \n  \nAttendance Policies You must attend the entire training and pass the quizzes at the end of each course in order to receive BREA credit and the Accredited Green Appraiser certification. \n  \nExam Details \nThere will be quizzes at the end of each training day. \nThere is a requirement to pass with 70% or higher in order to earn the Accredited Green Appraiser certification. This three-part series will cover the importance of electrification planning\, how to optimize existing electrical capacity to avoid costly and often unnecessary panel upgrades\, selecting the most efficient equipment that will keep homeowners comfortable and happy\, and putting together a comprehensive\, detailed\, and customized plan that will set homeowners and contractors up for success. \n  \nThe best way to achieve a desired outcome is to create a plan for getting there. This first webinar of the series will focus on what an electrification plan is\, why it is important\, and how it is done.
