Event Description

Heat pump water heaters (HPWH) are becoming the standard in California. This free training will prepare your plumbers to install them correctly to avoid callbacks and achieve their full potential in terms of efficiency, capacity, longevity, and customer satisfaction. We’ll cover how they work, the range of models available on the market, the critical detail of air flow, and research on closet installs and condensation risk. You’ll come out prepared to add heat pump water heaters to your business and avoid some common installation hurdles.

The instructors bring a wealth of experience to this hands-on in-person class. Gary Klein has worked for the California Energy Commission and worked on hot water systems for over 30 years. Nick Brown is an expert on energy efficiency and Title 24 and has two heat pump water heaters operating at his house under continuous monitoring.

  • Explore the do’s and don’ts of installation based on real-life examples
