April isn’t just about Earth Day — it’s Earth Month! All month long, communities across Ventura County are coming together to honor the planet and take action to protect it. Whether you’re looking to learn something new, volunteer, or simply celebrate nature, there’s an event for everyone.
The County of Ventura Sustainability Division will be out and about at several local events, and we’d love to meet you! Stop by our booth to learn about ways you can make your home and lifestyle more sustainable, pick up free resources, and connect with local programs that make a difference.
Here’s where you can find us:
Saturday, April 19
Visit us at the Thousand Oaks Arbor Earth Day at the Thousands Oaks Community Center from 10am-2pm.
Monday, April 21
Dispose of your old electronics responsibly at the County of Ventura’s E-Waste Recycling Event! You can bring any items that have a cord or are battery operated. This does not include lightbulbs, batteries, or large appliances. Plus, you can get up to two bags of free mulch! This event will be held from 8am-3pm at the GSA Service Building located behind the Government Center (800 S. Victoria Ave, Ventura). Look for the signs to the “Service Complex” to drop off your e-waste and pick up some mulch.
Tuesday, April 22
Join us for an Earth Day tour of the Ventura County Government Center from 10am-11am starting at the fountain in front of the Hall of Administration. The tour will focus on sustainability elements around the Government Center, including solar panels, pollinator gardens, water management, and electric vehicle charging.
Saturday, April 26
We’ll be in Fillmore for the City of Fillmore Earth Day Celebration at City Hall from 10am-1pm.
Thursday, May 1
Stop by our table at the Downtown Oxnard Farmers’ Market in Plaza Park from 9am-1:30pm.
And make sure you don’t miss the City of Ventura and MERITO Foundation’s Earth Day celebration in Ventura’s Plaza Park from 11am-4pm on Saturday, April 19th.
Let’s celebrate, learn, and take action — together.
